The Restaurant and Bar Building was completely rebuilt in 2010.  Everything from the studs to the interior was reconstructed with new materials including a new roof.

The Kitchen was expanded and upgraded with new equipment, a new Bar and Back Bar were added, a new Cooler Room was added behind the Bar, a new Server Station was added just outside the Kitchen, a semi-private Office / Gaming Room was added.

The Building is ADA accessible including two bathrooms that were rebuilt during the remodel.

The Private Event Building is the original location of the restaurant prior to the 2010 rebuild.  It has a full kitchen, reception area and dining room with a wall of windows.  The upper level has an efficiency apartment with ¾ bath. The front entrance has a reception foyer.  There is also a dining room entrance from the covered boardwalk and kitchen entrance for staff.

There is a large covered dining Pavilion between the Restaurant and Private Event Buildings.  The grounds are beautiful with two two fire rings, swing sets and two horseshoe pits.

A portion of the Pavilion is open with the majority covered along with a covered boardwalk that connect the Restaurant, Pavilion, and Private Event Facilities.

The Restaurant has a large dining deck that is connected to the boardwalk to the covering dining Pavilion.

The grounds are really beautiful and include a covered Music Stage with electrical service.  People love to dance under the stars after watching the 4th of July fireworks.  There is some light fencing allowing a cover charge for the entertainment if desired.

Approximately 1 acre of land east of the buildings is vacant with potential for expansion.  Preliminary plans are available for an RV Park with Cabins and Tent Camping areas.

The Retail Gift Shop is a historic log cabin.  There isn’t any plumbing to this building.  It has housed businesses ranging from a fly-shop, real estate office, gift store to an art studio. There were some updates to this building by a previous owner.

RECREATION and CULTURE: Recreational opportunities in the immediate area include over 17 blue ribbon trout fishing waters along with hiking, horseback riding, hunting, downhill & cross country skiing and wildlife viewing. Montana’s waters hold 56 species of native fish.  The Stillwater River is a world renowned trout fishery.

LOCATION: The Property is located in the Rocky Mountain foothills of South Central Montana just north of the Beartooth Mountain Range near the town of Fishtail in southern Stillwater County.  Columbus, 30 miles northeast, is the county seat. Billings, Montana’s largest city is 40 miles east of Columbus via I-90.

ELEVATION AND CLIMATE: The property’s proximity to the Beartooth Front affords it a fairly predictable Chinook area. Consequently, the winters can be quite pleasant, although occasionally very low temperatures and significant snowfalls occur.  Elevations on the property average 5,000 feet.

AIRPORT: Billings’ Logan International Airport, 70 miles to the northeast, provides major carrier and regional airline service.  Columbus, 30 miles northeast of the property, has a regional airport with a recently upgraded 3,800’ x 75’ paved runway and private hangers. Red Lodge, 45 miles southeast, also has a regional airport.

WILDLIFE: Wildlife in the area is abundant including elk, moose, big horn sheep, mountain goat, whitetail deer, mule deer, black bear, grizzly bear, mountain lion, gray wolf, turkey, grouse and sand hill crane along with other various upland game birds. Spring is a magical time when it is common to see newborn elk calves, deer fawns or bear cubs. Wild native trout abound in local streams and rivers.

LOCALE: The property is just minutes away from Benbow Road and Woodbine Trailheads into Custer National Forest. The Custer adjoins Gallatin National Forest and together forms the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness area. This is the largest contiguous designated wilderness area in the lower 48.

The 900,000 acres contained in the Custer and Gallatin national forests is contiguous to two (2) million acres that comprise Yellowstone and Teton National Parks. At one time, the Crow Indian Reservation was located in this lush mountain valley.  In the late 1800’s, the reservation relocated to the southeast and this land opened for homesteading.
